Welcome to our CPS school that offers a Gifted and Enriched Academic Program. We would like to extend a warm welcome to all our Edison families, both new and returning! The 2009-2010 school year is going to be yet another exciting opportunity for our students to reach their academic goals and pursue their dreams.
Edison Regional Gifted Center is a school built upon the dedication of great educators and very supportive parents. Since 1975, Edison Regional Gifted Center has welcomed thousands of gifted and high-ability students through its doors and graduated some of the most well-prepared, disciplined and top-performing students in the state.
At Edison Regional Gifted Center, lessons are experienced, not just taught. New ideas and skills emerge from the pages of books and are turned into unforgettable experiences by our creative team of 17 veteran public school teachers. These teachers are, in turn, supported by a stellar administration, a well-organized Local School Council (LSC)and a very proactive Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO).
Edison Regional Gifted Center 's Mission
Edison is a diverse community of learners--students, teachers, and parents--pursuing quality, continuous academic improvement and disciplined personal excellence. We are building a framework to help students express their giftedness, establish their humanity, and form values conducive to effective living.
"Be courageous! Whatever setbacks America has encountered, it has always emerged as a stronger and more prosperous nation...."
"Be brave as your fathers before you. Have faith and go forward." Thomas Alva Edison
